Syntax

  • Do lu constructs work as high adverbs or low adverbs when placed in t6 and t7?
    • Hoemai: "Undefined. I'm open to suggestions." I suggest "always low". Lynn (talk) 14:15, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
  • How is the animacy class of serial verbs determined?

Vocabulary

  • Miscellanea 1 seemed to imply that (c 1 c) and (1 c) frames are going away. Will noa, fuı, doa, nua, jea be redefined?
  • Will kou and ray become official, or will there be some way to "unbind" / force an exophoric reading of maq and hoq?

Script

  • How is falling creaky tone written in Hoelai v2?
    • Hoemai: "An overhaul of Hoelai is necessary."

Resolved questions

  • Does shu quote only a word, or word + tone?
  • What is the scope of sa in the sentence Kaqgaı tu po sa saq sıa kıq da.?
  • In the sentence She dûa jí mâı súq jí cy cy, jêo róu da., does róu access the inner content clause or the outer one?
    • Official answer: "Outer."
  • Can áq and chéq be used before the x1 slot, e.g. are sentences like Kuq còu áq nháo valid?
    • Official answer: "I think so. We probably want subjectless sentences to be able to be reflexive/reciprocal as well: Kuq còu áq 'there is talking to oneself'."
  • Does a genitival serial construction narrow down the x₂ of the head verb or fill it, removing it in the process? That is to say, does chuq rỏehuı expand to ‘___ eats junk food ___’ or just ‘___ eats junk food’? uakci 21:50, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
    • Official answer: "The latter."
  • Do the reflexive anaphoric words áq, chéq refer to the subject of the current (sub)clause or do they always go back to the matrix clause? This is quite an important underspecification given that áq must be used in place of other anaphoric predicates whenever possible. uakci 13:51, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
    • Official answer: "Current clause."
