Consonant symbols marked with “+ʲ” require the use of an “iotized” vowel from the lower row of the vowel table below.

/a/ /u/ /i/ /o/ /ɛ/ /ə/

Tone, /-ŋ/ final

The addition of /-ŋ/ loosely corresponds to aspiration of the consonant glyph used for the tone value. Otherwise there is little rhyme or reason to the tone glyph assignments other than loose allegiance to Vietoaq.

cont.[1] falling tone/neutral tone[2] rising tone rising-creaky tone rising-falling tone mid-falling tone falling creaky tone
/-∅/
/-ŋ/
  1. This tone is equivalent to old flat tone in that it is placed on every non-initial syllable in a word.
  2. Conflates falling tone with neutral tone.

Orthography, spacing rules

A syllable may consist of multiple hangul blocks; only the last block receives the tone/ŋ marking. For example, gủao would be spelt as gu, a, ỏ, so 구아온.

Whitespace may be omitted fully, placed between words, or between every syllable.

Example

Jẽo bı dảqmıq mâı ràq póq jï.
제옺빈담밀마읻맄퐆짓.

¯ (˙) ˊ ˇ ˋ ˊ* ˋ*

Tones marked * require hiatus. Hiatus is achieved by doubling the vowel character on which the accent falls; in case this character is not a simple monophthong, we reduplicate its leading component – e.g., /tao²/ ㄊㄠˊ → /taʔao³/ ㄊㄚㄠˊ
