A '''terminator''' is a particle that doesn't carry any meaning except to mark the end of some grammatical construct.

For example, quotations starting with {{t|mo}} are terminated by the terminator {{t|teo}}, and parentheticals starting with {{t|kïo}} are terminated by {{t|kı}}.

There used to be terminators for more constructs in Toaq, like {{t|ky}}, which terminated clauses. This made it possible to terminate a subclause manually:

{{Example|Ca, ꝡä gom jí {{red|ky}}, ꝡä faq ní.|The fact that I erred caused this to happen.}}

But the current [[Toaq Delta]] tries to avoid terminators for clauses, in favor of [[self-termination]] and valency-reducing prefixes like {{t|hao-}}.

{{Example|Ca, ꝡä hạogom jí, ꝡä faq ní.|The fact that I erred caused this to happen.}}
